Bolu Tape Keju (Fermented Cassava Cake Topped with Cheese)

bolutapekejusmall.jpgAny cake that includes cassava in its ingredients deemed to hava a distinct taste. A taste of those exotic food coming out of the tropical countries. Even though, cassava is not yet popular in the sub-tropic countries, you may snatch it into your shopping basket next time you are out for grocery shopping.

Ingredients (Lihat dibawah untuk resep dalam bahasa Indonesia)
400 gr fermented cassava*
200 ml coconut milk
8 eggs
225 canister sugar
200 gr flour, sifted
50 ml oil
1 tbs emulsifier
50 gr cheese

Directions:
1. mix the fermented cassava with the coconut milk. Mix until smooth. Set aside.
2. Beat in eggs, sugar, and emulsifier until frothy. Add in flour gradually.
3. Put in fermented cassava. Mix well.
4. Put in the oil. Mix until smooth.
5. Pour the batter into the pan. Grate cheese over the dough.
6. Bake it at 180 degree celsius for approximately 25 minutes

*I am not sure what is the proper translation for “tape” in english. I’ll just use the word “fermented cassava”.

Bahan: (Scroll upwards for English)
400 gr tape singkong
200 ml santan (kara)
8 butir telur
225 gr gula kastor
200 gr terigu (kunci biru)
50 minyak goreng
1 sdm emulsifier
50 keju cheddar untuk diparut

Cara:
1. Haluskan tape singkong, campurkan dengan santan. Aduk,sisihkan.
2. Kocok telur, gula pasir, dan emulsifier sampai mengembang. Masukkan terigu sambil di ayak di atas adonan.
3. Masukkan tape singkong, aduk rata.
4. Masukkan minyak goreng, aduk rata
5. Tuang adonan ke cetakan.
6. Oven dengan suhu 180 cm dalam waktu kurang lebih 25 menit.

Strawberry Cheese Muffin

strawberrycheesemuffin_little.jpgEverything that bears the great name of “wilton” yields to tons of yumminess (Yes, I just invented this word ;-) ). This recipe creates soft, mouth-watering, and melt-in-your-mouth muffins. Err, I may exaggerate a lil bit. But, this recipe is definitely worth a try. Indri, my colleague, showed me this recipe and noted it as a highly recommended recipe. I guess, you have a pretty good idea of what topic that we mostly discuss in the office.

Bahan:
350 gr tepung terigu
25 gr susu bubuk
80 gr Margarin
50 gr Mentega
110 cc air
4 butir telur
200 gr gula pasir
1 sdm vanili
8 gr baking powder
strawberry jam (yang kasar lebih bagus), secukupnya
keju (secukupnya), potong dadu. Tinggalkan sedikit untuk diparut

Cara membuat:
1. Rebus mentega, air dan gula sambil mendidih dan gula larut
2, Masukkan tepung dan susu bubuk kedalam mixer, tuangkan perlahan bahan campuran mentega lalu dimixer dengan kecepatan sedang sampai hangat.
3. Masukkan vanilla
4. Masukkan telur satu persatu
5. Masukkan baking powder, kocok sampai cukup rata
6. Masukkan bahan tambahan (stroberi, dan keju, jangan terlalu dicampur rata)
7. Masukkan adonan kedalam piping bag, potong ujungnya
8. Semprotkan kedalam cetakan muffin sampai penuh
9. Oven dengan suhu 200 derajat selama lebih kurang 20 menit (10 menit terakhir berikan taburan keju)

Easy Breezy Blackforrest

blackforrest_little.jpgOn a quiet saturday afternoon, I was thinking about … ermm … food. I was wondering what would be the perfect cake to make in three hours. Since I had only that much time left; I had to attend an important meeting in three hours. Suddenly, I realized that I have such a perfect recipe for this kind of situation. It is truly an easy breezy recipe which works wondefully. The only two skills that you need to successfully try this recipe are: the ability to weigh ingredients and the ability to turn on your electric mixer. Yes, no kidding! :-)

English
Ingredients
250 g flour
250 g sugar
6 eggs
1 tbs tbm
1 tsp vanilla powder/extract
1/2 tsp vx
190 ml cold water
190 ml oil
45 g cocoa powder

Icing
100 g butter
100 g white butter
200 g powdered sugar
Mix all of the ingredients together untill smooth.

Direction
1. Preheat the oven at 180 degree celsius. Beat in everything with an electric mixer for 15 minutes. Pour the batter into a pan.
2. No, there’s no second step.
3. I told you already, there’s no more step!:)

Indonesian
Bahan
250 g terigu
300 g gula
6 telur
1 sdm tbm
2 bungkus vanili
1/2 sdt vx
190 ml air dingin
190 ml minyak goreng
45 g coklat bubuk

Krim:
100 g mentega
100 g mentega putih
200 g gula halus
Kocok sampai lembut

Cara Membuat
1. Panaskan oven pada temperatur 180 derajat. Masukkan semua bahan, mixer selama 15 menit. Masukkan ke dalam cetakan.
2. Gak ada step kedua.
3. Udah dibilangin gak ada step lagi, udah selesai kuenya!:)
